Marietta, GA – February 13th, 2025 – BACnet International is proud to announce the results of its most recent board of directors election. Robert Hemmerdinger, Delta Controls Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, and Tim Skell, Global HVACR Application Engineering Manager at ABB, will serve their first terms beginning this year.
Hemmerdinger has led an extensive career in in developing and implementing highly effective global strategic business initiatives that drive substantial revenue growth and profitability. “I am excited for any opportunity to engage deeply with BACnet International Board members and the broader building automation community,” says Hemmerdinger. “Involvement like this is essential in shaping the future of smart buildings and doing it right. Together, we are all shaping the future of building automation. Let’s get into it!”
Since 1997, Hemmerdinger has served in multiple fields that include engineering, product management, and strategic sales and business development in the US, EMEA, and Asia Pacific markets.

Tim Skell, Global HVACR Application Engineering Manager at ABB, has been working with variable frequency drives (VFDs) in the HVACR industry for over 20 years. With BACnet activities ranging from technical committee to marketing committee participation, along with having multiple BACnet-related articles published, he has supported the BACnet community for many years. He has received a past BACnet Member of the Year award and the BACnet Howler award. Tim leads a best-in-class HVACR Application Engineering team that solves real-world challenges. Skell enjoys teaching, and posting his #FunFactFriday series on LinkedIn.
