There are specific opportunities, or task forces, within each community, such as social media or video within the marketing committee, that may include an additional 2 -3 hours\/month, depending on automation and control systems by developing strategies and tactics as they relate to communications, marketing, and membership benefit\/promotion efforts directed to various audiences in the BACnet community.<\/p>\n<p>Strategies include messaging and delivery, such as social media, trade shows, publications, and other promotional activities.<\/p>\n<p>Committee volunteers should be from a BACnet International Corporate member company (Platinum, Gold, Silver) or by invitation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Committee responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Define promotion strategies and identify tactics to promote the BTL Mark, The BACnet Institute, and other Association programs and materials.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with setting goals, measurements and recommendations for trade show participation and publications<\/li>\n<li>Provide input on strategy and tactics for social media efforts, web site, brand and imagery<\/li>\n<li>Assist with marketing strategies for Association events, such as PlugFest and annual awards<\/li>\n<li>Develop recommendations about target markets, tools, and methods<\/li>\n<li>Recruit interested and competent experts and users who may contribute hidden\" id=\"accordion-content-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p>The purpose of the BACnet International Education Committee is to guide the development and promotion of education and training materials in an effort to inform various audiences in the BACnet community, including input on the direction of The BACnet Institute.<\/p>\n<p>This is accomplished through the development and promotion of education and training materials to help inform the public and industry professionals about BACnet and its application.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Identify and categorize externally available materials and training\/education resources and publishing these resources on the BACnet International website with ongoing maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Define, develop, and sponsor educational and training materials and events<\/li>\n<li>Educate people about what BACnet is and what the protocol can do for them<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the online user forums<\/li>\n<li>Develop and establish a system integrator certification program<\/li>\n<li>Recruit interested and competent experts and users who may contribute to accomplishing these tasks<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This Committee meets monthly via conference call.<\/p>\n<p><a single\" aria-controls=\"accordion-content-2\" title=\"BTL Working Group (BTL-WG)\">\n\t\tBTL Working Group (BTL-WG)\t<\/button>\n\n\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"bacnet-element bacnet-element-content accordion-content hidden\" id=\"accordion-content-2\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p>The BACnet Testing Laboratories Working Group (BTL-WG) provides oversight and guidance to the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL). The BTL is responsible for the technical aspects of BACnet International&#8217;s testing and listing activities, the central goal of which is to improve BACnet interoperability, between building automation products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Committee responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Maintain the BTL Implementation Guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and extend the BTL Testing Package<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the BTL Certification process and answer questions raised about the BTL Test Package<\/li>\n<li>Oversee and participate in the BACnet Test Organization Recognition (BACTOR) process as specified in the process flowchart<\/li>\n<li>Oversee and participate in the Testing Evaluation and Validation Activity (TEVIA) process as specified in the process flowchart<\/li>\n<li>As needed, develop or encourage the development of test tools for use by the BTL and the BACnet International membership<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a class=\"btn\" href=\"https:\/\/btl.org\/join-btl-working-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Join the BTL Working Group<\/a><\/p>\n<\/section>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item accordion-level-1\"\n\t\t\tid=\"item-accordion-item-3\"\n\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t<button id=\"button-accordion-item-3\" class=\"bacnet-element bacnet-element-button accordion-title single\" aria-controls=\"accordion-content-3\" title=\"Publications\">\n\t\tPublications\t<\/button>\n\n\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"bacnet-element bacnet-element-content accordion-content hidden\" id=\"accordion-content-3\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p>BACnet International creates and distributes its biannual publication, the Journal of Building Automation.<br \/>\nWe are always looking for articles, both technical and non-technical, to share with our audience to enhance their knowledge of the BACnet Standard and its applications.<\/p>\n<p>The time commitment for writing or contributing to an informational or educational publication article is dependent on the time needed to draft, edit, and finalize a document. BACnet International handles all layout and production logistics.<\/p>\n<p>There are also periodically other opportunities to contribute articles which would be of interest to the BACnet community.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item accordion-level-1\"\n\t\t\tid=\"item-accordion-item-4\"\n\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t<button id=\"button-accordion-item-4\" class=\"bacnet-element bacnet-element-button accordion-title single\" aria-controls=\"accordion-content-4\" title=\"Conference Sessions\">\n\t\tConference Sessions\t<\/button>\n\n\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"bacnet-element bacnet-element-content accordion-content hidden\" id=\"accordion-content-4\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p>BACnet International currently conducts educational sessions at the AHR Expo in January\/February and occasionally at other industry conferences and events. By indicating your interest in this area, you will be enrolled in our speaker session email group for requests and reminders.<\/p>\n<p>The time commitment for presenting at a speaker session is dependent on the time needed to draft, edit, and finalize a presentation as well as present.
