BACnet® Testing Laboratories - BTL Manager Job Position

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The BTL Manager reports to the BACnet International Board of Directors and works closely with the BTL-Working Group (BTL-WG) for technical decisions. The BTL Manager acts as project manager to the BACnet Test Facilities, manages the VTS open source project and the BACnet International-owned BITS project. The BTL Manager provides technical assistance to BACnet customers and to BTL managed laboratory when necessary.  He/She reviews and processes all test and listing applications received. The BTL Manager provides oversight to the BTL-WG by publishing any documents they approve and oversees updates to the Web site as necessary.  The BTL Manager also organizes the annual Interoperability (PlugFest) Workshop with the help of the executive office for meeting planning logistics.  The BTL Manager prepares BTL-WG document updates per BTL-WG meetings, and prepares reports (monthly, quarterly and annually) for Board of Directors and Steering Committee.
 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  •   A strong understanding of the BACnet standard and the test process
  •   Good interpersonal, inter-corporate communication skills
  •   Strong management and organizational skills
  •   Ability to respond to customer emails immediately and follow-up when necessary
  •   A self-starter that can handle doing multiple types of tasks at the same time



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with ISO17025
  • Programming knowledge in C++ and Python (3-5 years experience)
  • Database and excel programming
  • Web site maintenance and FTP usage
  • Version control software and Install Shield experience a plus
  • Experience collaborating and working with international teams
  • Two  years project management
  • 10 years industry experience



EDUCATION

  • BA/BS degree with 3-4 years applicable experience
