BACnet® - Changing the World of Building Automation and Control BACnet® International invites you to join in our mission to encourage the use of BACnet® technology in building automation and control systems through interoperability testing, education programs, and promotional activities. BACnet® International committees welcome the participation of new members looking for ways to contribute to the organization. Opportunities exist in several areas including: BACnet® Testing Laboratory Working Group This group is for those with a strong technical background in BACnet® who would like to get involved with intimate details of the protocol. The BACnet® Testing Laboratory Working Group puts together the test packages that are used to implement ASHRAE Standard 135.1, Method of Test for Conformance to BACnet®, and provides technical oversight of the BACnet® Testing Laboratory product testing and listing process. Marketing Committee This group is involved in wide range activities to promote the adoption and use of BACnet®. It includes managing the annual BACnet® conference, BI participation in the ASHRAE/ARI Exposition, the BI website, and advertorial promotions. It is a great opportunity for those who would like to focus on finding ways to tell the world about the potential of BACnet®. Education Committee The Education Committee strives to develop and promote education and training materials to inform industry professionals about BACnet® and its applications. These include formal classes, Web-based learning materials, "ask the expert" forums, and others. The Education Committee welcomes input from throughout the BACnet® community. You don’t need to be a BACnet® expert to have good ideas about what kind of training opportunities are needed to educate the industry. International Liaison Committee One of the goals of BACnet® International is to closely collaborate with, and support the work of, other BACnet® Interest Groups around the world. This international group is being formed to provide a way to identify common needs and to share resources and ideas in ways that can be beneficial to all BACnet® advocacy groups around the world. If you are involved in one of the groups outside North America or have business interests in other parts of the world, this committee may be the right place for you.
