BACnet® International to Utilize MBS Test Tools To Increase BACnet Interoperability: Offers Automated BACnet Testing Tool to Market
BACnet International and MBS Software announced today that they have signed an agreement whereby the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) will utilize MBS automated BACnet device testing tools for testing BACnet device interoperability. The two organizations are working together to incorporate the testing tool into the formal operations of the test lab which will shorten the testing process and speed the time to market for BACnet products. The agreement will also allow all BACnet equipment manufacturers to purchase and use the tool to conduct their own interoperability testing prior to the formal BTL certification process

EnOcean Alliance and BACnet International to Develop Interoperability Specification for Integrating Wireless/Wired Building Systems
BACnet International and the EnOcean Alliance, an international consortium of 130 companies from the building sector, today announced its cooperation with BACnet’s Wireless Networking-Working Group (WN-WG) to develop a vendor independent gateway specification for integrating EnOcean-based wireless energy-harvesting nodes into the world’s leading data communications protocol for building automation and control. As the only wireless standard offering self-powered operation, EnOcean technology requires neither batteries nor maintenance, thus opening the floodgate to wide-scale deployment of wireless sensing-solutions in commercial buildings, including BACnet-based building automation systems.

BACnet® International Expands BTL To Increase BACnet Interoperability
Building on almost a decade of success in conformance testing and interoperability events, BACnet International announced today that it is expanding the scope of its BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) and has hired Duffy O’Craven to manage the BTL going forward. The long-standing goal of the BTL has been ensuring BACnet device interoperability across multiple suppliers in the building automation industry. The additional investment in BTL will allow the organization to provide a broader range of educational materials including tutorials, samples and test suites for pre-testing.
